SAP Extreme Sailing Team arrive at Kieler Woche, Ready for the official opening & welcome race

The SAP Extreme Sailing Team co-skippers Rasmus Kostner and Jes Gram-Hansen will be amongst 5000 yachtsmen and women from 50 countries attending the 131st edition of the Kieler Woche 2013. With today’s official opening of the week long sailing event (22nd – 30th June), it’s the largest summer festival in northern Europe and preparations are underway to entertain three million guests in attendance from all over the globe. The racing experience will be up-close for the audience at the starting line off the Hindenburgufer shore of Inner Kiel Fjord.

Kostner and Gram-Hansen will be racing their extreme 40 multihull in the Welcome Race this morning, a spectacular sight amongst the fleet and the SAP Extreme Sailing team will be onsite for a full programme of guest sailing for the week.

New this year, SAP will deliver the English version of Kieler Woche TV on the regatta website, providing three hours of live daily race footage and expert SAP commentary. Bringing sailing fans and spectators closer to the action, the official regatta website will feature an online “SAP Live Center,” available in German and English, making the regatta action accessible to an international audience. SAP will provide world-wide live broadcasts in English at Kieler Woche 2013.
